Starting the Dream-Eater Model

I started with the Dream Eater model first because I felt that it would be the hardest character to create. However, it turned out to be a lot of fun modeling it. I am really excited to bring this character to life using Z-brush!

I changed the designs on his left arm and took away the bands to give the arm a nicer silhouette.

Character Turnarounds

With the turnarounds (a 360 degree view of the characters), I want to keep it as basic as possible. Specifically, I want to focus on capturing the character's body frame in order to facilitate the modeling process.

Introducing The Story and Characters

I would like to say, thank you for visiting my "Bear Friends" animation blog. I hope that you will enjoy this animation process as much as I will.

Introducing The Story:

So let's get started. "Bear Friends" animation is a very simple story of 3 very courageous stuffed bears and their pet Dinosaur. These inseparable group defends their best friend Karter from a dark and shadowy creature (Who I like to call the Dream Eater), from altering Karter's dreams into nightmares. This story idea came across when I asked myself a simple question: Why are children so attached to their stuffed animals? More importantly, when introduced to a stuffed animal, why do children automatically get attached? I came to the realization that children get attached to stuffed animals because to children, stuffed animals are their best friends, confidants, and protectors from monsters when they are asleep. Therefore, I sat down and created a story that not only answered my question but portrayed this inseparable bond.

STUFFED ANIMALS

With the bears, I wanted to give each of them a different look, not just color, but also their silhouette. I specifically wanted these differences to be noticeable enough so that viewers could distinguish each bear right away.
